PhD Program

SIT's ~75 PhD students (completed + enrolled) address various interdisciplinary and application-oriented research topics related to computing. Considering the interdisciplinary nature of our research, we welcome candidates from various engineering and other backgrounds to our PhD program. The admission process and passage through the Ph.D. program also take this diversity into account.

SIT's PhD students are financially supported by prestigious high-value fellowships from government and industry sources such as the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship (PMRF) and Google Fellowship in addition to Institute Assistantship. Attractive travel funding is available over and above the support provided by IIT Delhi.

Admission interviews to the Ph.D. program are conducted twice a year. Refer to the IIT Delhi academic portal for application details. Applications are also accepted throughout the year (request an application PDF file from the SIT office).
